End of tenancy cleaning: the points landlords check first

Cleaner vacuuming a bright living room carpet

An end of tenancy clean is judged against the check-in inventory, so the goal is the condition the property was handed over in — fair wear and tear aside.

The usual deductions

  • Oven, grill pan and extractor filters
  • Fridge and freezer defrosted and wiped
  • Limescale on taps, shower screens and toilets
  • Carpet marks and skirting board dust
  • Inside windows, sills and window tracks

Leave time for drying

Book the clean after the property is empty and at least a day before the inspection, so carpets and floors are dry and odour free.

Keep your receipt and before-and-after photos — agents accept them readily, and our team can supply both.
